I watched this airing of 60 Minutes this past Sunday and I found it too be very disturbing. It is rather hard to believe that pollution will continue to increase no matter how hard we try to go green - there will always be crooked people in the world who will not try to do the right thing for selfish purposes. The people in China who work on this wasteland have no other choice for working. I'm sad to say that this is what the future will always have in store for them because they are unable to work in the city.

It's a real shame. though, that they have little kids out there doing their dirty work only to be poisoned by lead and play in dirty water. I found it genorous of the mayor of China to allow our casting people to search over their handling of the e-waste, but the fact that they weren't willing to let us see everything causes me to wonder if anything can ever be done about pollution, seeing that it's the action behind the camera that wasn't seen is the worst part of it all. It is as though that for every one can we recycle, there is always 10 computers that are thrown out as e-waste and not recycled. It makes me wonder if recyling in the U.S. is in vein. But what can I do?

This article mainly talks about e-waste's effects on any society that is affected by it. The worst part about the whole thing is that the e-waste is shipped to China illegally. People and children are horribly affected by e-waste's chemicals and elements inside of it. Most of the people in Hong Kong around this area are too poor not to do the job, so they have no choose. Sadly, these people have to choose between poverty or poison.

Executive Recycling is one of the companies whom is sending that e-waste illegally to Hong Kong. This company is supposed to recycle the computers that Americans give to them. Sadly, this company, like 42 of other companies in America, would rather dump the computer parts on another country than put the work and effort into recycling the material. The only solution to this chaos is for the American citizens to recycle e-waste and other recyclables to better our world. But, as these 43 companies, most Americans would rather pass the work onto another source instead of doing recycling themselves.

This video clip show me how careless we are about other because the pollution does not effect us. Even though we think that our things are being recycled, we need to make sure that there not just sitting in waste lands.

This also show how we as Americans are selfish when it comes to others and there needs. I found this video heart breaking because I know that I have contributed to this waste with cell phones and compute waste.

This artical was about the illegal dumping of e-waste in a Hong Kong own. E-waste is electronic devices like computers, PDA's, and, cellphone that are dubbed obsolete and thus are thrown out. After they are thrown out recycling companies claim to recycle the waste in America but in reality it is sent illegaly to Guiyu.

Guiyu is the town in Hong KOng were the wast is recycled and broken down. The only problem is that the process of breaking the waste down isn't handled properly. The people that have to do the rcycling are exposed to many harmful materials that can cause mutations, cancers, or death.
Nothing has been done yet to stop this because the mayor of Hong Kong and big businesses are keeping everyone from knowing what is going on in the town.

The article is about E-Waste which is just short for electronic waste which is when they take our old TV's, cell phones, computers, and other electronic devices and say that they are going to recycle them but they really don't. In fact what they do is they send the waste all the way to the far east where it just keeps on piling up & causes alot of pollution.

This article actually makes you look at what pollution has done to us humans and to the world itself. It also makes you see that maybe no matter how hard we try to cut down on how much pollution we make, there it still perhaps tenn times as more being creating all over the world because we really are not getting rid of the waste at all.

This was about the horrible effort of people around the world trying to recycle, mainly the U.S. Our waste is being streamed down to other areas, affecting another city's lifestyle. China is known to have an area of waste products burning on a daily basis, polluting the people's air and making it difficult for them to breathe and basically survive properly.

One of the emerging waste products is known as e-waste. These are waste from electronic devices such as TV's and computers. The reason why this is emerging as a waste product is because of today's technology. In a matter of months one's TV or computer will be obsolete which makes them go out and buy a new item and throw away their old one. The inside of a computer is so hazardous and full of toxic that it can affect one's health. "Living green" is a tough task that will take a world effort to become a success.

THIS IS A TOVXIC WASTE LAND WHERE ALL OF AMERICAS WATE GOES TO. THE GANG WANTED TO KEEP THAT PLACE A SECRET AND TOLD CAMERA MEN THAT IF THEY DONT LEAVE THEY GONE GET JUMPED. OLD THINGS LIKE COMPUTERS, T.V.S AND PHONE THAT ARE OUT ARE CALLED E-WASTE. IT SAYS THAT WE THROW OUT ABOUT OVER 130,000 COMPUTERS A DAY AND 100 MILLION CELL PHONES ANNUALLY.

THERE IS A PLACE IN DENVER WHERE PEOPLE BRING DEVICES AND TRY TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THE THING IS THAT THEY DNT KNW WHERE THEIR STUFF IS GOING.THE STUFF IS SENT OVERSEAS WHERE THEY GET IN RETURN METALS. EXECUTIVE RECYCLING LYIN ONT EHIR WEBSITE BY SAYING ONE THING AND DO ANOTHER.

This perturbing message was about the electronic waste from the US being illegally shipped overseas. This electronic waste contains thousands of old computers and millions of cellphones. Executive Recycling is one of the 43 US companies who have claimed to recyle these materials. Instead, they have lied and left this responsibility to the people in China. In each of these computers and electronics, there are a series of toxic metals inside.

Unsuccessful farmers in China work in the wasteland that the e-waste is put into from these companies. Their irrepressible burning of these toxics have severely infected their environment. This pollution has shortened their breathing and has filled their children's blood with lead. Although some of these peasants have witnessed this pollution, they continue to work there because they are desperate for money.

Sadly to say, many children have died and are dying due to the fact that American companies lack the effort to recycle old electronics.

This article discusses how waste is being disposed of. Many companies claim to recycle and therefore many people like americans nievely send their waste to them. But, these companies do not recycle the waste; they send it iver seas where the metals inside of it is harvested.
The waste that is being harvested is mainly e-waste, modern waste from computers and televisions, etc. The waste is shipped off to waste lands in countries like China where the metals are harvested from the obsolete technology in many instances by children. This is dangerous because it has been proven that many of these metals cause birth defets, genetic deformations, and cancer. Sending the waste to China is illegal but companies like Exacutive Rcycling continue to do it.

I read the article about e-waste and I have to say that I am completely disappointed in my lack of recycling and my continuous wasting. i was shocked to find out that America throws out 130,000 computers everyday.

I also was disappointed about the fact that even though thousands of people showed up to a recycling event to get their computers recycled, some of their products were being used for bad. they are shipping our computers over seas to workers with low income, and who does not have the right materials to work with this stuff. We as a nation have to be wiser with our recycling.

This article was about one of the most toxic places on the earth. This place is located in China. The toxic is so bad that they can not breathe the air or drink the water. The children's blood is laced with lead. This is messed up because China is suffering form the way we Americans live. The gangs that are a part of the town does not want anyone to know about the toxic because they are ashamed of it. E-waste is the electronic garbage, which is the lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium, polyvinyl chloride have effects ranging from brain damage to kidney diseases to mutations and cancer

The video was some what disheartening. It disturbed me to know that pollution will contunue to increase. The article toched me on the bad ethics of others and the selfishness of some. The people and children are majorly effected by E-waste. The sadest part of the matter is that they have no choice but to become subjec to their waste.
Executive Recycling is one of the companies whom is sending that e-waste illegally to Hong Kong. This company is supposed to recycle the computers that Americans give to them. This shows you the Morale of Americans today. The only way to stop this is through awareness and effort on our part to cut down on pollution

I found these clips of 60 minutes very disturbing. I thought being green was a good thing. I guess it just depends on how one disposes of the waste that it makes. The problem is that everyone can not follow the places where these recycled objects are going. It seems to me that we as a country are always disposing our trash on other less able countries.

We are a selfish country. We dont even take the time to find out or continue to follow the problems we are causing. I was ashamed to find out that we are causing lead poison and miscarriages in China. We as a country have always been money hungry and don't care about the people we hurt in the process. I hope that the researches will be able to get evidence to put these companies and people out of business.

There is a landfill in China that is full of technological waste. People throw out obsolete computers and it ends up overseas. People usually assumed that their waste was going directly to a place for the components to be recycled properly. The dumping is illegal but there has barely been anything to protect this law.

The area they were in has the highest pollutant levels in the world. It also has the most number of cancer causing chemicals. There is no clean water. The people that imporperly break down the computers are farmers that are poor and need work. The gangs that profited from this are trying to keep it secret beacause it is very illegal.

Aurielle:
China is one of the most toxic countries in the world right now and it is all our fault. We have been sending all of our pollution to China and it is affecting the countr immensely. We should, as a nation, begin to look out for the well being of other countries, not just the United States of America. We need to stop shipping our waste to other places. This has been detrimental to China as a whole, but especially the children in China. This should be changed. The question is; how?
