When I found out that the garbage mass located in the Pacific Ocean was greater than twice the size of Texas, I was really astonished, and also disappointed at the same time. How could people discard so much garbage in one place to make it bigger than twice the size of one of the largest states in America. People really need to be aware of the damage they are committing when they pollute in the Pacific Ocean, or anywhere at that. Because of this trash, many animals in the ocean have died, like sharks, whales, sea birds, and marine mammals. Another thing that shocked me was that this wave of pollution isn't just in the Pacific Ocean, but in other major oceans as well, so that means we can see the same amount of trash located in the Atlantic, Indian, Arctic, and even Southern Oceans. I really learned a lot from reading this article, and I know to never litter in any ocean ever!

Ocean Pollution in America is a major problem that doesnt seem to be a big problems to the citizens. The pollution of the Oceans has gotten out of control it is estimated to have been as large as twice the size of Texas. Scientist say that this will haunt us later so we should make changes in our lives that will improve this situations. A major step that could be taken is to use more biodegradeable products so that there will be less useless trass without a proper place to go. Before reading this article i was unaware of the severity of ocean pollution. Now that i am aware i will try to take small steps in improving this problem.

The Ocean Pollution in America is upsetting. The garbage in the Pacific Ocean is more than twice the size of Texas is crazy and becoming out of control. There is no telling what it would be in many years and that is what is so scary. I don't believe that people are aware of the damage that is being caused for the next generation as well my generation. I am aware of what has happened and i now will try to fix all that I can. I have learned a lot from this article.

Having lived in Hawaii before, I can really relate to this because of the laws that are related to the oceans. Most laws relate to how you disgard your garbage. For example, the plastic that holds 6 packs of soda had to be cut before you threw it away. This was to provent animals like birds or turtles from being caught by the neck and die. So at early ages children raised in Hawaii have been thaught to respect animals and the environment.

Knowing that Water covers more than 70 percent of the planet's surface didnt suprise me but what did was the simple connection to the state of Texas where it stated that garbage mass located in the Pacific Ocean was greater than twice the size of Texas. This shows me that we as people need to be more cautious about what we are doing to our society. This has escalated to be a major problem, ocean pollution has. This has not only endangered people but as well as endangerment to our aminmals which is not healthy for us nor them, as well as the enviorment. As people we are not as aware as we should be as what this is doing to us but we need to become more aware and protect our earth and its surroundings. If we do not find solutions of improvements this will soon become worse and cause ou long-term problems, which we do not want. With People's help we can better our enviorment so i've concluded that we need to not only do this ourselves but make sure you are involved in helping better the situation.

After reading the four slides i was both disappointed and astonished, because i didnt relaize that as humans we have really started to take advantage of the beatiuful earth God provided for us. The one alarming stat that was presented was that the pollution was almost twice the size of one of America's largest states blantly shows that many Americans don't care abou the long lasting affecting the pollution while have on our genertaions and future generations to come. I believe that the animals inside these ocenas are forced to deal with a problem they can not control since they have so say in what happens to their home, i bleive that if the tables were turned and we were forced to deal with the situation similar to the way the animals in the ocean deal with it we would change the way we act towards not only the ocean but the enivronment in general.

I feel this website was very informing. It really helped people know where and what their garbage really does to the environment. The website told about people dumping their garbage directly or indirectly into the Pacific Ocean and polluting it in a very high deal. All I can say is that this website really makes me reconsider how I dispose of my trash and makes me want to make sure I recycle everything because I know it's going to be up to the future generations to take care of the planet; how will they be able to do that if there is no longer a planet around do to mistreatment and pollution?

When I saw the picture on the first page that showed all the trash in the ocean, I was completely shocked and applaud. T hat was the attention for me to stay focused on the article. Immediately I shocked and sad at what we have been doing to the earth. I really felt sorry for all the creatures that were water- bound and had to endure the horrible pollution. When I read that there were more pieces of plastic than plankton I was outraged. And that everything on the earth is connected in way. From what pesticide you spray on weeds in your garden can run off into the ocean and can affect water life a great deal. At this rate, I don’t think they'll much of the planet left, but we can stop it if we all take the time to take better care of our planet by using less energy and by recycling.

Once I read the article and saw the picture of the garbage in the ocean I was shocked because I had no idea that all of our garbage was being dumped into our ocean. This pollutes our water syetem and our bodies as well. Because we drink that water and eat some of the animals in that ocean. This article taught me that even though plastic was nice to use when it was a new invention and it still is nice to use, however it is polluting our earth and I also, learned that it is hard to recycle plastics.

The Ocean Pollution slides were very informing. It was surprising to hear that dumping the chemical in the ocean leads back to us. The first picture was shocking to look at because I don't think no one really knew how big of a problem this really was. I knew there was trash in the ocean but I didn't think it was bad enough to the point where trash is two times the size of Texas. This is a problem that needs to be fixed sooner rather than later. We have enough negative affects that should motivate us to do better. I don't even want to think about what the future will hold if everything stays how it is.

Pollution in general is a major problem alone. Who knew that Ocean Pollution was even worse. It is a problem, and it seems to become a bigger and bigger problem. This article was a good way to inform more and more people about what they are doing to harm the ocean and the environment. One fact that got my attention was when Fabien talked about how we ended up eating the chemicals we dumped into the ocean. I think that if more people knew that, then people would work harder to stop ocean pollution.

In the article i just read i learned of many things i did not know like the amount of garbage in the pacific ocean this shows just how irresponsible and uninformed the human race is. THis should be a wake up call to people all over the world that we must find ways to disgard trash safely and cleanly to keep our air and waters clean.

This article finally made me see how all the waste we create affects me directly. Seeing that there is a garbage mass that size just sitting in our ocean made me think about what I could do to help change it. I finally see hwo what we do affects us and how it could affect the lives of our children and there children to come.

Discovering that their is a mass of garbage the same size of one of our largest states is alarming. Its hard for me to understand why people complain about green house gas and pollution, when its our waste damaging an vital asset to our survival the Pacific Ocean. We eat animals that come from the Pacific Ocean and its also an resource for transporting goods and resources to the American people. This article has let me know why I must as a individual in the world to protest and fight for change in the world, before its to late.

After I found out about this mass of garbage in the pacific ocean I was disturbed that people know about this and really haven't been doing anything about it. This is also another reason why I really want to be a marine biologist to help figure out how get rid of this mass of garbage that is polluting the marine ecosystems and to help protect marine animals from getting trapped in the garbage and dying.

I'm not surprised by this pollution issue. Water follows a pattern of water flow so the pollution piles up piece by piece throughout time. I understand that it is an international issue and we as a world need to be proactive. I am glad we have people like Mr. Fabien, who make the health of the earth their passion. The earth is a responsibility of the people who inhabit it. I hope we can improve this situation for the future of the planet and learn some good information. I am interested in the breast cancer situation with whales; because they are mammals and that can help us as humans make discoveries. The best thing is to act A.S.A.P.

Not only was it shocking but it was depressing to find out that the garbage mass located in the Pacific Ocean was so extreme. The picture of the Ocean during pollution was also a major shocker and wake up call. The slides presented make me want to start all over as a citizen of the earth and help eliminate ALL pollution. It was a wake up call because one realizes after reading the slides that he or she is affected directly and that the issues are no longer far fetched. I feel that we can't blame anyone but ourelves and we have no choice but to move on and in that help save the world.

The garbage that is dumped into the pacific ocean is a major problem in the world. The issue should be brought upon by all nations in the world because one country or a single group of people cannot solve this problem. This may effect the many marine life that live in the ocean. It is a issue that should be brought to the attention of many.

It was very upseeting when i saw the pacific ocean with garbage all in it like it's really bad that it looks like that. All that garbage that's polluting the ocean and people just damaging the animals that live in it. Since the Pacific ocean is one of the biggest oceans it's also hurting the people who uses the water from there. So it really hurts to see all of thats and hear about damaging everyone and everything around it. but i truly learned a lot from this and hope that something will be done to stop this from preevnting in other areas in the bodies of water.
